Every sign about the events happening in Egypt seems to be exactly like what happened in Iran in 1979 with one major difference. Egyptians ALREADY speak Arabic! |

Dear Jason, as far as your questions
Q: What's wrong with speaking Arabic?
A: There is nothing wrong with speaking Arabic "IF YOU ARE AN ARAB"
I just pointed that out cuz'
1) The Arabs have an advantage point over Iranians who are forced to learn the Arabic language that is not of their own heritage. Farsi is.
Q: Are Arabic speaking people not worthy of democracy?
A: Sure they are as long as the promis of democracy does not get wiped off by clericks letting religion taking over the politics
What's wrong with speaking Arabic? Are Arabic speaking people not worthy of democracy?
Funny you should say that. I literally just gave a piece of my mind to one of the organizers of tomorrow's demonstrations in Iran because they are planning on chanting Allah-o-Akbar. Until Iranians establish their own religion, identity, and complete language, I will remain skeptical regarding their chances for a truly democratic and free country.
Jason Did America need its own complete language and religion before democracy? We still speak English, and Christianity is still our #1 religion. You might say America is different (although it isn't), but what about Turkey? People are speaking the same language they did during the ottoman empire, and the majority are still Muslim. Or anywhere else. Your notion is both absurd and unreal. Remake a full identity, language and religion? I'd like to hear your ideas on how that should happen |
A lot of people have been asking similar question and this has been my answer to all of them: "Iranian people are the most non-muslim people on earth, certainly compare to the Arab nations. If we end up getting the Aytollahs post our 1979 revolution, I can't imagine what a nightmare is awaiting for Egypt. Do not get me wrong. I am not justifying Mubarak. I am just sharing experience."
I really hope I am worng though
Jason Funny thing is the only ones that I hear are worried are Iranians, and Israelis. I haven't heard such concerns from Egyptians themselves, nor anyone else, and statistics do not support your argument |

Jason Each country follows its own historical path, such parallels rarely come out true. |
