President Obama has taken out three of the top terrorists during the past 6 month, but America is not giving him much credit. If we had a republican president in power and he had taken only one terrorist out during his 4 years presidency, his re-election would have been guaranteed. Why is that?

Katherine, In response to your feedback:
1) How is Obama taking the country toward socialism? Just becuase someone from the republican party made that comment, it doesn't mean all republicans should follow. So, is Scoial security socialism? Last time I checked, it was intiated and implemented by a republican president.
2) How could you say Obama is lacking politics. During the Bush adminstration, we were hated by the entire world. Even our own people. Since Obama took over, we are loved by everone including a few republicans. Look how he managed Libya. He let The Nato to lead and we foll
ow. Not a single American was killed in that War. He is pulling our troops out of Iraq. A War that Bush fooled us by lies

I think that there are a couple of things to be said in response to this. First of all every Republican I know has praised Obama for getting rid of Bin Laden and have said essentially that at least he has done one thing right. I don't agree that simply getting rid of terrorists would assure a Republican re-election by any means. The problem that Obama has now is that the economy is so bad that the worry over jobs has overshadowed the joy that we might have felt as a result of the removal of terrorists or enemies of the state.
I don't believe that Obama has bad intentions by any means but I s
ee only 2 options that explain his behavior.
Let me back up and say that Obama did inherit a difficult situation. This situation goes back many years and many Presidents and has been getting progressively worse based on a number of bad decisions by several congresses and presidents. With that being said I don't see that any of his decisions or decisions by others that he has supported improving the situation at all.
Because of his behavior I can only assume that
1) He would like to fundamentally change the structure of the US government and our economy so that the US is more of socialist state. That would explain the government’s shocking takeover of businesses, the health care bill, the omnibus bills, and his overt opposition to capitalism. It would also explain the overt push to “redistribute wealth” and the continual references to the wealthy having made their fortunes through underhanded means or their refusal to “share with the needy” ie class warfare. If there is any confusion re the concepts of socialism please read the “Communist Manifesto” where it is explained in great detail. If Obama truly feels that Socialism would be a better form of government than our current Republic (that uses democracy but is not in fact a democracy) or Republican form of government (ie a government consisting of representatives of the people, not to be confused with the Republican Party) it would explain his support of government intervention and/or takeover in an effort to solve our current economic problems. In other words he would be willing to take the “small” hit to the economy now in order to move us into a socialist form of government because he feels that socialism will be a better and fairer form of government and that we would recover from this problem better in this way.
Or
2) Due to his inexperience in politics, government, and business he was unaware of potential results of the policy decisions that he has made or supported. There are sometimes “unintended consequences” as a result of well intended legislation. The health care legislation is a prime example of this problem. Obama made it very clear that the legislation would not have any effect on the current health care packages that businesses were offering their employees but would only require businesses to provide a reasonable health care plan to those who were not covered. Unfortunately the legislation that was written did not do just that and not only did businesses struggle to meet the new requirements for those who were currently covered but there were in many cases unable to afford to pay for health care plans for those who were not covered and as a result were forced to go out of business or to desperately apply for a waiver to not be forced to comply with the new laws.
So Obama either wants to change the fundamental operations of the United States or he does not understand the results of the policies that he is supporting.
Either way…our economy is a disaster, people are out of work, people are going out of business… and when you are busy worrying about feeding your family and losing your house you don’t really care that some guy over on the other side of the world who wasn’t directly effecting you in a way that you notice has been killed or removed from power.
So people are happy to give him credit for getting rid of them, even republicans, but when it is compared with eating and keeping a roof over your head it seems pretty unimportant. He will have to find a way to convince people not to believe what they are seeing with their own eyes and in their own lives when it comes time to vote. Only time will tell if he is able to successfully alter the publics’ perception.
