I have lived in the Netherlands all my life. In December of last year I have decided to quit my job. The 1st of January I was browsing the internet and found a job at the Washington International School. Of course by the time I send my cover letter, the job was gone. But I decided to come to DC anyway! I bought myself a passport and this American couple who I was teaching Dutch gave me a ticket.
A huge step for me, like jumping into nothingness.. So I decided to take up skydiving to prepare myself for this giant leap! I did my AFF in Holland and am currently a student skydiver at Skydive Orange. I can tell you: jumping gives you the best 50 seconds ever!! I play golf, (in Holland that requires a licence!) I love (teaching) snowboarding and want to learn how to kitesurf. Surfing the waves, hanging on a huge kite, that sounds like fun!
Happiness is important to me. I have never been married and have no kids, but never been more happy. As a teacher I have 400 kids. The good thing is: they go home at the end of the day! Everyone I meet here and DC, the city, gives me positive energy. Happiness is only real when shared! And as I have learned: only give energy away if you have extra! I have plenty
From the moment I got off the plane, I felt HOME!! ….The colors, the architecture, the smells, the sounds; crickets everywhere! It all reminds me of Spain, but everybody speaks English. That is a good thing, because my Spanish is non-existing.
